Trade offs
There’s an old saying in the field of project management that goes something like this: There are three variables — time, resources, and scope — and you can only control two of them. (At least I think that’s how it goes; I’m getting older, and memory is the second thing to go.
) You can define the scope of the project and when it needs to finish; that will determine how many resources must be committed to it. Or you can define the resources available and the scope of the project, which will determine when it will be completed. Or you can define the resources available and when it must be completed, which will determine the scope (how much you can accomplish).
It’s an incredibly trite observation (triggered by an experience the other day), but we have similar trade offs in the world of P4P.

Sweeney Pockets!
Just went to see Sweeney Todd. It was a great adaptation of the original musical… Tim Burton brought something to the show that I didn’t quite get from the Patty LuPone revival: ambiance. A sense of time and place. So amazingly visual, which didn’t hurt for such a bloodbath.
As my friend and I left, the only question I had on my mind was, “why didn’t the studio do a tie-in with Hot Pockets?” Like… free tickets… or a special “Human” flavor. Yum.

Wheel Fix It
This company came in tonight for dinner at the restaurant I work at and I had the pleasure of serving them. They were overly generous in their tip and made my evening, over all, enjoyable. I wanted to give a blurb out - to everyone in San Antonio area - if you need new tires, wheels, etc - check ‘em out ….

Wheel Fix It is the name of the company and the owner is just about the nicest business man I’ve met in a long time. I may even run an ad for them on my site - just for fun. Hee hee… like that will do them any good…

Ad Jokes
This is number One in what would be a wonderful series of hokey, ad related jokes, if only Alejandro would stop being embarrassed by them. And what better way to coax someone away from their inhibitions than to post them to one’s blog?! Here we go!
